Jason Voorhees (Kane Hodder) – Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood

We've left Tommy and the Jarvis trilogy behind, and now we're moving into the Hodder era with Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood. Part 6 was the film that introduced the supernatural, well, depending on where you fall on whether or not Jason actually died as a boy, and this film continues that supernatural thread with a Carrie-esque final girl in Tina. The film came out in 1988 and was written by Daryl Haney.

Listener Mail

“Hey guys, just came across the blog and podcast, totally like it. Got a bit of a question for you, do you think we'll ever find out what happened to Paul Holt from Friday the 13th part 2? Honestly, I'd like to see some closure on if he survived somehow, or if and how he was killed, you know? Just always thought it was interesting having someone attempt to stand toe to toe with Jason. Anyways, keep up the awesome work guys.”

“Any chance of a director's cut?”

“Let's compare part 7 to The Final Chapter. Both have a collaboration of the previous films at the beginning, both have killings between two houses, and both have a death where a girl is thrown through a window ( Tina and Robin).”
