"You talking to me, sheriff?"

Roy Burns (Dick Wieand) – Friday the 13th: A New Beginning

Happy Friday campers! This week we stab away at a different perspective. In Friday The 13th A New Beginning, could Tommy Jarvis and Roy be either partners, or could they both have been a little murder hungry? We cover a review from JE first…

“OK… in Freddy vs. Jason, Freddy realizes at a certain point in the film that Jason's weakness is the water… that he's scared of water. If this is true (which I don't think it is unless Freddy vs. Jason is a stand-alone movie and the rest you can throw out, but don't feel it is…) then lets go back to The Final Chapter, he wouldn't HIDE UNDER THE WATER only to jump out of it in order to hold Sam still in order to stab her from underneath the raft, only to WAIT IN THE WATER for Paul to go after Sam to get a harpoon to the nuts… in Part 6, if he was scared of water, Jason wouldn't, without hesitation walk DIRECTLY INTO THE LAKE AFTER TOMMY UNTIL THE WATER IS ABOVE HIS HEAD, in Part 8, he would not BASICALLY SWIM UNDERWATER to the boat in order to board it from the side.

What's your take. Is he scared shitless of the damn water or not???”

“All this stuff is up for debate. But, the only way that makes sense is that the window scene is a dream sequence. Do you remember when Paul picks up Ginny after the massive cut on her leg? I believe this is where she blacks out. I believe Jason attacks them again & they never make it into the cabin that this scene takes place in. The reporter in pt 3 says Ginny survived MULTIPLE STAB WOUNDS but she only has one cut on her leg in the movie, so she must have been stabbed again!”

Great podcast guys! Love the theories!, bad, good or inadequate, theories are fun!, and Friday the 13th movies are full of great theories all the time. Keep up the good work!

By the way, talking about Tommy Jarvis, I didn´t like that he was a “normal” guy in Part 6. Loved Shepherd´s Jarvis, the way he was crazy and having wake up dreams about Jason in part 5, but in Jason Lives he is totally fine and lucid, has a romance with one girl and stuff. Jus saying. 🙂

    • Thanks for listening! We’re going to be talking about the Part 6 Tommy in our Part 6 episode, which is due out in a month or so. There are some things I don’t think people consider when think about Shepard’s Tommy.
