Jason Voorhees, This Is Your Life: A Retrospective of Friday the 13th Parts I-IV – CBP013

Friday the 13th Parts I-IV

Friday the 13th Parts I-IV

Since our first couple episodes were a bare bones operation, we decided to do a bit of a recap and redemption episode. Also, since we added Oz as one of our counselors, we decided to give him a chance to add some parts we might have missed in our early shows covering Friday The 13th (1980) to the last as time Jason could have been human (as improbable as it could have been) in The Final Chapter.

“Just wanted to send a shout out to Creep, Ed and Eric doing the 75th proud! I just want to tell you guys how much I am enjoying the podcast so far. My question is: Do any of you know what the origin is, or the exact words or sounds are for the iconic “che, che, che… haa, haa, haa… kill, kill, kill…” sound bar that is ever present in each movie? I mean as soon as you hear this sound bar, you know that you are in the world of Friday the 13th. I was just wondering if there is maybe an interesting background or origin story behind this sound bar? Also have the words or sounds changed over the years? Keep up the good work.”

“You have figured Jason's age incorrectly. He “allegedly” drowns in '57 but the killings in the first film don't take place until many years later when Pamela revisits the camp. Jason could have easily been well into his 30s by the start of part 2.”
